Cricket is rapidly gaining popularity in Afganistan, mostly beacause of their proximity with Pakistan, though they have never qualified for a World Cup their U-19 squad reached the finals of the Asia U-19 Qualifier.[2] Cricket is gaining so much popularity that it is believed that it is the most popular sport at the moment.
